Newspaper hawker,friend held for stealing cellphones

A newspaper hawker,his associate and two minors were apprehended on Saturday for stealing mobile phones. Police claimed to have recovered 16 expensive cellphones from them.

Saurabh Sharma (20) and Roshan alias Rahul Pandey (19) were arrested after a complaint by Nitish Kumar,who claimed that three mobile phones,an ATM card and other valuables were stolen from his Lado Sarai home in Saket earlier this month.

“A pattern suggested that a gang was active in the morning hours. After receiving specific information,a team was positioned near Lado Sarai bus stand and Pandey was arrested on October 15,” DCP (South) Chhaya Sharma said.

Information provided by Pandey led police to Sharma and the two juveniles.
