Newborn boy found in garbage dump

A newborn boy was found abandoned in a garbage dump near a Jain temple at Jaikampura colony in Gurgaon on Friday night. The temple authorities took the infant to Gurgaon civil hospital for a medical check-up. Doctors said the child was about eight days old and was healthy. He has been admitted in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the hospital,an official statement said on Saturday.

Civil surgeon Dr Praveen Garg said the child weighed about 2.7kg. A case has been registered and a probe is on.
