(Express file photo by Nirmal Harindran) The Delhi Police said they received two calls Wednesday from a man who threatened to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Both the calls came around 10-11 am, the police said.
The police found that the calls were made from one number traced to Paschim Vihar (East). Sources said the caller is an alcoholic who has abandoned his home. The police questioned his 10-year-old son and began looking for him.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Harendra Singh said, “We received two PCR calls – one at 10.46 am and another at 10.54 am from an unknown man targeting VVIPs. In his first call, he threatened to kill Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and demanded Rs 10 crore. He then called and threatened to kill PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah while demanding Rs 2 crore.”
The station house officer, along with a team of four personnel, immediately went to Paschim Vihar (East) and found that the caller was not at his house.
“The suspect has been identified as Sudheer, who is an alcoholic. He works as a carpenter. His son told us that Sudheer had been drinking since morning. The boy doesn’t know about his father’s whereabouts. Our team is constantly trying to trace him,” added the DCP.
