Muslims uphold world peace,condemn misuse of Islamic ideology by terrorists
The rally was held to adopt in public the recommendations of the recently concluded World Peace Conference at Deoband.
In their first large-scale initiative in the capital,Jamiat Ulama i-Hind organised a gathering to pledge peace and harmony among different religions,communities and theological groups.

The event at the Ramlila grounds was attended by prominent Muslim scholars,including general secretary of the Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Maulana Mahmood A Madani and presidents of the outfit in different countries Maulana Fazlur Rahman (Pakistan),Qari Usman Mansoor Puri (India),Mufti Mohammad Rizwe (Sri Lanka) and Mufti Noor Mohammad (Burma).
Taking a strong stance against terror activities,the speakers unanimously spoke against the misuse of Islamic ideology by terrorism and Islams dedication to peace.
Malauna Mahmood A Madani said,The World Peace Forum will see Islamic organisations across the world create and establish critical initiatives against terrorism of all kinds,and assist each other towards this common purpose.
Madani also announced the resolutions undertaken at the World Peace Conference through a formal declaration. The resolutions include condemning vociferously all kinds of terrorism and endorsing the fatwa of Darul Uloom Deoband.
The conference also pledged to strive to deliver rights and social justice to minorities,poor people,weaker sections and women.
Besides,a resolution to cleanse the society of crimes,immoral customs,extravagance,alcoholism,drug addiction,sexual exploitation,nudity and female foeticide was also adopted at the conference in Deoband.
