On Thursday morning, multiple teams of the ED in a coordinated manner began searching the premises at 7am. ED teams were escorted by a CRPF team.
Anand, 57, is an MLA from Patel Nagar and minister for social welfare among others in the AAP government.
The probe pertains to a chargesheet filed by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence on charges of false declarations in imports, which came from China, for customs evasion of more than Rs 7 crore, besides international hawala transactions, an official said. A local court recently took cognizance of the DRI prosecution complaint after which the ED lodged a PMLA case against Anand and his aides. The probe against Anand is being undertaken as per provisions of the PMLA.
