Minor boy, tailor stabbed to death in separate incidents in Delhi’s Rohini

The deceased was identified as Praveen, 25, a tailor who had been living in Aman Vihar’s Balveer Nagar for the past two months.

A police team rushed his brother Deepak to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where he was reportedly in a critical condition.

A police officer said Praveen and Deepak were on their way to buy vegetables on Thursday night when some assailants attacked Praveen with knives.

Deepak intervened to save his brother, but was also stabbed by the attackers, who then fled.

“Praveen had an altercation with some local residents earlier this month, and they were allegedly looking for revenge. The assailants have been identified and attempts are being made to nab them,” an officer said.

Just two hours before the incident, at 6.30 pm, Aman Vihar police received another call about a 15-year-old boy being stabbed to death by boys in his neighbourhood.

According to a senior police officer, the boys who attacked the Class 10 student had an argument with him and his friends at a park in Rohini’s Sector 20.

“Three to four boys came to the park where the deceased was with his friends. The deceased got into an argument with the visiting boys, who then started beating him,” a police officer said.

Four friends of the deceased then stepped in to help him, upon which the attackers took out knives and stabbed all five.

The police rushed all five injured to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where the 15-year-old boy was declared dead.

His friends are currently under treatment, the police added.

No arrest was reported in connection with the stabbings till Friday night.
