Metro honours Nobel laureates with a wall at Rajiv Chowk stn

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and the Embassy of Sweden inaugurated The Nobel Memorial Wall at the Rajiv Chowk Metro station on Friday to commemorate Rabindranath Tagore. DMRC officials said the aim of the wall is to spread awareness on Nobel Laureates from India. The wall will be exhibited from November 9 to 15.

Officials said the Nobel Memorial Week is dedicated to Tagore,marking the centenary of his Nobel Prize in Literature. “The Nobel Memorial Wall has a Tagore bust as well as the original text of his Nobel Prize nomination,procured by the Embassy from the Swedish Academy,” officials said.

Delhi Metro chief Mangu Singh said,“It is a matter of pride for us to host the Nobel Memorial Wall with the Embassy of Sweden. It also gives an opportunity to our youth to know about Tagore while they are on the move.”
