Metro gets Japanese award

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation was awarded the prestigious Japan International Cooperation Agency President’s Award 2012 on Monday.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) was awarded the prestigious Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) President’s Award 2012 on Monday. The award was presented to DMRC Managing Director Mangu Singh for Delhi Mass Rapid Transport System Project (I) – (VI) in the presence of JICA Chief Representative Shinya Ejima. The DMRC was awarded for its “outstanding contribution to the development of human resources,society and the economy in India and to the enhancement of friendly relations and mutual understanding between India and Japan”. Officials said JICA had chosen four projects from around the world for the award.
