As part of the ongoing e-governance scheme,the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will upload details of all its files online said MCD Commissioner K S Mehra.
Mehra said the system will soon be in place,after which the progress of any project will be available online. After the scheme is implemented,officers who hold up files for too long will be held accountable, he said.
Through the online system,not only will the progress be monitored it will also ascertain in which department a particular file or document is lying and for how long. It will also help in cutting down financial losses, Mehra said.
Through e-governance,MCD plans to overhaul its education system. Attendance of teachers and details of mid-day meals will be recorded online. Under this scheme,MCD will also put its parking details online so that people can spot parking lots at places they are visiting. It also plans to make 71 services of its 40 departments online by July.
Once the e-governance plan is implemented,getting trade licences,birth and death certificates or securing sanctions for building plans can be done online.
