MCD building collapse: Fresh probe ordered

Within a day of the probe report filed by Engineer-in-Chief Ravi Dass on the collapse of a school building adjacent to ab under-construction multi-level parking lot at Pitampura ,the Commissioner of North Corporation has ordered fresh investigation in the matter.

Dasss report gives a clean-chit to the civic engineers and officials into the collapse,but Commissioner P K Gupta is not convinced.

The report has exonerated the engineers and the consultant. The report fails to explain why the engineers,consultant and private contractor did not notice accumulation of water at the parking site. The commissioner is set to order fresh probe in the incident, said an official.

Dass submitted his report to Guptas office on Tuesday. The report blames the collapse on a leaking DJB pipeline.
