Man who shot wife,2 others,arrested

The Ghaziabad police arrested Prashant Sharma,who is accused of killing his wife and a father-son duo apart from shooting and injuring his mother and her friend in the past 20 days.

The Ghaziabad police arrested Prashant Sharma,who is accused of killing his wife and a father-son duo apart from shooting and injuring his mother and her friend in the past 20 days. Police said Sharma was arrested from the Loni area of Ghaziabad on Thursday afternoon.

Jawahar Lal Tiwari,Additional Director General of Police,said,Sharma was arrested on Thursday afternoon. He had family problems and faced business setbacks as well,which caused him to lose mental balance and go on this (killing) spree. The interrogation process is on and further details will emerge tomorrow.

Sharma (25) allegedly first shot and killed his wife Sunaina (24) at their Karhera home on June 23. Officials had said at the time that the two were estranged and living separately. He then allegedly killed Dayachand Kaushik (62),a chemist,and his son Dhanesh (32) on June 26 in Loni as they were business rivals,police said.

Five accomplices had accompanied him on two motorcycles and shot the father-son duo,police said.

Sharma then resurfaced on July 9,when he shot at his mother Sunita Sharma (45) and her friend Mira Devi (35) at their Vijaynagar home. While Sunita suffered injuries on her leg,Mira Devi was shot in her shoulder. This time too Sharma was accompanied by an associate,police said.

Police said the hunt for Sharmas accomplices in staging the shootings is in progress.
