Man shot dead,cops say it may be linked to land compensation

A 65-year-old man was shot dead,allegedly by contract killers,in Indirapuram in Ghaziabad district on Wednesday evening. Police suspect Anup Singh Nagar was killed following a dispute over the money he was set to receive in compensation for land that was acquired. Ghaziabad SSP Raghubir Lal said: “He was set to receive around Rs 10 lakh from his Provident Fund account. He had received Rs 3 crore for a plot that he owned in Indirapuram which was acquired. He also owned 12 bighas in Kanavni village from which further compensation was due.”
