When western classical guitarist,Shyamant Behal, painter Abhishek Singh,Berlin-based DJ Lynda Revol,Vienna-based musicians,4YourEye,and photographer Kapil Das get together today,it is not music they will discuss, but literature. The Beat-Repeat Literature+Rich Media Festival, organised by Delhi-based electronic music collective,B.L.O.T (Basic Love of Things) at the British Council Auditorium, aims to be a literary meet with a difference. DJs,dancers and musicians will interpret their favourite pieces of literature through their art form. B.L.O.T is not just about music,we want to intersperse art, literature and visuals with music, says Gaurav Malakar, member of the two-person collective. Bharatnatyam dancer,Asha Ponikiewska will interpret a Polish novel through dance, while writer Sheba Karim will read excerpts from her novel accompanied by visuals provided by B.L.O.T. The day-long festival aims at adding more dimensions to literature through art forms such as dance, music and visual art, says Babitha George from Quicksand Design Studio, the co-organiser.
