Jilted lover among 4 held for murder

Police have claimed to have solved the murder of a senior citizen in Neb Sarai,South Delhi,with the arrest of four men,including a jilted lover.

Police have claimed to have solved the murder of a senior citizen in Neb Sarai,South Delhi,with the arrest of four men,including a jilted lover. Neeraj Nagar (23),Lucky (21),Sanjay (20) and Sandeep (20) have been arrested,while a minor involved in the crime is on the run. The incident took place on Friday evening when Neeraj,who had an “one-sided affair” with Kamla Devi’s daughter,a Class 12 student,and his friends went to her house in Neb Sarai after spotting her with a boy,police said. There was an altercation and Neeraj stabbed Devi,police said. When an elderly couple,Jagat Singh (65) and his wife Prakash,from the neighborhood tried to stop Neeraj,his friends stabbed them,police said. Singh died in hospital,while the two women are in critical condition.

Help alleges rape,employer arrested

A 19-year-old domestic help has accused her employer in Miyanwali Nagar,West Delhi,of raping her 15 days ago,police said. The man has been arrested after medical examination confirmed rape. The teenager is from Assam and has been living with her maternal aunt in Nihal Vihar. “She has been working in the house of a 55-year-old man for the past two months. She alleged that the man raped her a fortnight ago when they were alone in the house,” a police officer said. She was scared and,hence,didn’t report the incident immediately after it took place,police said.

Three held at IGIA for smuggling rare monkeys

Three Dubai-bound foreigners were arrested at IGI Airport on Sunday for allegedly smuggling rare species of small monkeys after one of the animals was found hidden in the undergarments of an accused,police said. The passengers were intercepted by CISF personnel during checking after they arrived from Bangkok and were proceeding to board a Jet Airways flight to Dubai.
