Jan Aushadhi Kendra to be set up within 500-m radius of each govt hospital: CM

During her visit to the Jan Aushadhi Kendra at Ashok Vihar on Friday, Gupta said, “The previous government failed to implement the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana in Delhi, depriving residents of its benefits.”

In response, the AAP said that the BJP is unleashing a “systematic attack” on its proven welfare model, which had started with distributing free medicines. “Unlike Jan Aushadhi Kendras, where medicines are sold, the Arvind Kejriwal government ensured they were entirely free in hospitals and Mohalla Clinics. Now, with the BJP in power, the rollback of essential services has begun,” the party said in its statement.

It further claimed that the BJP will discontinue free electricity and water, as well as bus travel for women, which will be followed by a deterioration in the quality of education.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi had personally guaranteed that none of the existing welfare schemes would be discontinued. But despite this assurance, the BJP government is now set to close down 250 Mohalla Clinics… Driven by petty political vendetta, the BJP is relentlessly attacking a tried-and-tested, highly successful initiative that has received global recognition. Even the CAG has acknowledged that Delhi ranks highest in healthcare parameters, with Mohalla Clinics playing a key role in achieving this milestone,” the party asserted.
