Jamia wants polls for ICC

A senior university official said the demands were accepted and would be looked into by the administration.

With the #MeToo movement gathering steam in the country, students of Jamia Millia Islamia submitted a memorandum to the administration, asking for elections to be held for student representatives in the Internal Complaints Committee.

AISA Tuesday met the registrar and submitted the demands. AISA president Ajaz Choudhary said all their demands had been accepted: “We wanted student representatives in the ICC to be elected, sanitary napkin vending machines to be installed, and lanes around the university to get proper lighting.”

A senior university official said the demands were accepted and would be looked into by the administration.
