Indian Nationals made it to their second successive final in the Lt Governor’s Cup football tournament on Tuesday, defeating Indian Air Force 2-0 in the semi-final. They now take on Amity United, who upset defending champions J&K Bank 2-1 in the other semi-final.

Indian Nationals have been one of the better teams in the tournament so far and,on Tuesday, they dominated for long sessions.

Nationals took the lead in the 10th minute through Gyan Moyon. Nationals doubled the lead in the 52nd minute when GS Sandhu’s handling the ball led to the referee pointing to the spot and S. Santa Singh made no mistake in slotting the ball in.

Meanwhile,Nigerian ND Opara’s brace helped Amity United enter their fourth final this season. Satwinder Singh reduced the margin for J&K Bank. Amity have won all the three finals they have played so far — the Gwalior Gold Cup,the Sambalpur Cup and the Kalinga Cup — and team manager R Parasher was confident of continuing the good run.
