Water supply to East Delhi to be affected

Several areas of East Delhi will have to do without water on Tuesday. Due to shut down of the Shahdara water line in trans-Yamuna area on December 29,water supply will be affected, a Delhi Jal Board official said. Areas including Shalimar Park,old Shahdara,Bhola Nath Nagar,Surajmal Vihar,Vivek Vihar and Yojana Vihar will be affected. Some of the affected areas,however,will get water at low pressure,the official said.

Panic in West Delhi complex after bomb scare

Panic gripped the Janakpuri District Centre in West Delhi on Sunday after the police evacuated a cinema hall and nearby restaurants and shops following a hoax call that there was a bomb inside the theatre. After the call,the police and the bomb disposal squad undertook an extensive search,a senior police officer said.

The anonymous call,received around 7.45 pm,claimed that there was bomb in the Satyam Cinema complex. “The call was made from a PCO in the Capital. The caller has not been identified yet,” a senior police officer said.
