Hoax bomb call prompts hospital evacuation

A bomb disposal squad, dog teams and Fire department officials were immediately rushed to the hospital.

A hoax call claiming there was a bomb at a government hospital in East Delhi on Monday afternoon caused panic and an evacuation of all patients for a couple of hours till a bomb disposal squad and police searched the premises and gave the all-clear.
Police received a PCR call around 2 pm on Monday. The unidentified caller said there was a bomb in the out-patient department (OPD) of the MCD-run Swami Dayanand Hospital at Dilshad Garden. A bomb disposal squad, dog teams and Fire department officials were immediately rushed to the hospital. The entire OPD was evacuated within minutes by police after which the bomb disposal squad searched the place. They found no explosives.
