The frames project the picture-perfect Bhutan, through the lens of its king. His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck has posed for numerous shutterbugs in the past, but on Monday evening,at Taj Palace Hotel,it were photographs taken by him that were under the some spotlight. The book,Bhutan: Through The Lens Of The King (Roli Books,Rs 1,495) featuring photographs of Bhutan, taken by the king was released by the newly-wed queen,Jetsun Pema Wangchuck. The pages project the kingdom through the eyes of its ruler, where they feature masked dancers, ancient fortresses, mountains enveloped with clouds, crystal clear lakes and smiling villagers. His Majesty believes in engaging in a dialogue with his people and encourages his audience to voice their opinion. This book is reflective of the deep relationship that he shares with his people and Bhutan, stated Pavan K Varma,Ambassador of India to Bhutan, who has written an essay in the book. The book also has an essay by Malvika Singh. The gathering had Mani Shankar Aiyer and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan with wife and son Amaan Ali Bangaash in attendance. The queen, however, had the last word - she poses for king in an image that occupies the last page of the publication.
