Modern medicine may be struggling to find a painless cure for arthritis but Sonam Topgyal, chairman of the Tibetan Chamber of Commerce will vouch for the authenticity of his traditional Tibetan medicine. “The medicines are completely natural, made with different Himalayan herbs. Since they are free of chemical substances, there are no side effects either,” says Topgyal, pointing to the jar of ‘Sengen 25’ capsules on the shelf at the first-ever Tibetan market fair, called Little-Tibet,at DLF Place mall,Saket. There are medicines for other ailments, including rheumatism, diabetes, nervous system disorders.

The three-day fair, which ends today,is well stocked with all kinds of traditional items ranging from handicrafts, books, jewellery, carpets, rugs, home decor items and organic food. “We have brought over 25 traders of various Tibetan goods to expose them to the huge clientele pool in Delhi. Making people aware about the potential of their business plays an important part in its success. A product does not sell if it fails to attract the people’s attention,” adds Topgyal. To add to the excitement, there are several cultural programmes, including a Tibetan nomadic dance performance and a Tibetan fashion show for kids.
