Headless body of woman found in Noida: Police form 5 teams to identify victim, nab killer

According to police, information about the body was received around 10.30 am on Thursday. “We received information about the body of an unidentified woman found in a drain near Sector 82 Noida Cut. Acting immediately, local police arrived at the scene and the body was pulled from the drain,” officials said.

A panchnama (inquest report) was filed, and the body was sent for a post-mortem examination.

“Efforts are underway to identify the deceased. Other necessary legal proceedings are in progress,” police said in a statement.

Sumit Shukla, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida), said five police teams have now been constituted to identify the woman and trace those involved in her death. “We are scanning CCTV footage and collecting forensic evidence to ascertain the sequence of events,” he said.

An officer from Sector 39 police station, under whose jurisdiction the area falls, said the woman’s body was soaked in drainage water and bore no visible injury marks. “We are waiting for the post-mortem report to determine the cause of death,” the officer said.

Police said they are also checking missing persons’ records from nearby districts to help establish the woman’s identity.
