Man killed in accident on Jaipur-Delhi highway near Airtel Chowk

The police said that they were investigating the cause of the crash and checking CCTV footage. (Representational image) A 31-year-old man was killed in a car accident on Jaipur-Delhi NH-8 near Airtel Chowk in Palam Vihar on Thursday, the police said.
According to the police, Chetan Bhalla, the director of a private firm in Gurgaon, met with an accident at Airtel Chowk heading home around 4.40 am on Thursday. Even as he was taken to a government hospital, he was declared dead on arrival, the police said.
The police rushed to the spot after being informed about the incident and found the car overturned and the driver with injuries on his head. They added that he died on the spot.
On the complaint of his father Anil Bhalla, an FIR was registered at Udyog Vihar police station under the IPC sections 279 and 304A.
According to the complainant, “My son was coming home from his company in his Honda City car around 4.40 am on NH8 Jaipur Delhi, about 100 metres ahead of the service road, when an accident took place with some unknown vehicle.”
The police said that they were investigating the cause of the crash and checking CCTV footage. “It is highly unlikely that the car collided with another vehicle, but we are probing. It is still unclear how the accident took place, and whether the car crashed into a divider.
