Greater Noida Authority is preparing to take action against builders who give possession to flat buyers without a registry and will issue notices to such builders very soon. Ritu Maheshwari, CEO, Greater Noida Authority, has given instructions in this regard in the review meeting of the builder department Thursday.

Officials said there are many such builder projects in Greater Noida, where buyers have started living without a registry and builders are unable to get occupancy certificates due to non-payment of dues to the Authority.

“Until the dues of the authority remain and the occupancy certificate is not received, the flats will not be registered. Even though the flat buyers have started living without a registry, they will not get ownership rights until the flats are registered. Builders are getting away with giving unauthorised possession to the buyers,” said the Authority in a statement.
