Greater Kailash, Kalkaji, Bijwasan Election Result 2025 Highlights: As vote counting is in the last lap in 70 Assembly constituencies in Delhi, BJP leads in 48 seats, AAP in 22 and Congress in none. In major losses for AAP, Arvind Kejriwal lost the New Delhi seat, while Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj lost the Greater Kailash constituency by over 3,000 votes. BJP’s Garvit Singhvi won the seat by 49,594 votes. Chief Minister Atishi has won Kalkaji seat by a margin of 3,580 votes. BJP’s Kailash Gahlot leads in Bijwasan by over 9,600 votes after fourteen rounds of vote counting.
Conceding defeat, AAP supremo Kejriwal said the party worked for people in the Capital during their terms and would continue to help citizens. Congratulating BJP for their landslide victory, Kejriwal hoped the saffron party would fulfil its promises.
The high-stakes election witnessed fierce campaigning by AAP, Congress and BJP. While AAP leaders emphasised on their welfare schemes and Delhi model of governance, BJP led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit back over “Sheesh Mahal” controversy, Yamuna’s water quality, and freebies. The make-or-break election for the AAP has seen the party suffering major setback with former CM Kejriwal unable to secure a win from New Delhi constituency.
