Girl injured after cracker bursts near her face in Lado Sarai

The girl has not raised any allegations so far," said DCP, South, Ankit Chauhan (Representational/Pixabay)An 18-year-old girl sustained grievous injuries in the eye on Sunday after a cracker burst near her face in South Delhi’s Lado Sarai, her family said.
According to the girl’s family, the victim was on the terrace watching her neighbours burst crackers below at the time of the incident. “She was standing in the corner while the boys downstairs were bursting crackers … they kept throwing crackers towards her even after she kept telling them to stop. One of the crackers burst near her face and injured her eye,” the girl’s sister said. The Indian Express also spoke to the victim.
The girl was rushed to a nearby hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment. Members of her family said that they have been involved in some disputes with their neighbours downstairs for a long time. “One of the boys who were bursting crackers on the day of the incident was the nephew of a woman who lives downstairs,” said the girl’s sister. The family, however, also admitted that they did not think the attack was done on purpose.
