Talking to The Indian Express, CWC chairman Virmani said that the toddler was produced before the board on Tuesday.
The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) will soon send suggestions related to guidelines to the Gautam Buddha Nagar administration for day care centres and creches in the district, said officials on Thursday.
“There are no proper guidelines in place for day care centres and creches in the district. We urgently need specific guidelines on the standards for operation, registration, and inspection of pre-schools and day care centres,” CWC Chairman K C Virmani said.

On August 4, a couple had dropped off their 15-month-old daughter at a daycare centre inside their residential complex, in Noida’s Sector 137. When the child’s mother picked her up later that day, she allegedly noticed marks on the toddler’s thigh and rushed her to the doctor who confirmed that those were “bite marks”.
An FIR was registered against the attendant and the owner of the centre, based on the mother’s complaint. The Central Noida police subsequently apprehended the attendant and sent her to a correction home.
Talking to The Indian Express, CWC chairman Virmani said that the toddler was produced before the board on Tuesday. “The child is doing fine. Her medical examination reports, however, confirmed the assault,” he said.
The chairman also said that a notice was issued to the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of the residential complex over running a commercial space inside it. He noted that the RWAs bear a legal and moral responsibility to prevent the employment of minors and verify all permissions and documents for commercial establishments functioning within the society premises.

“In the absence of standard operating norms, there is a risk of unregulated operations, which may compromise the safety and well-being of children,” the chairperson said.
Meanwhile, Noida Authority CEO M Lokesh told The Indian Express that it is unlikely for the society to not have the permission to run a commercial space, but officials will look into this. The CEO said that the authority will only slip in case of violations of regulations over running the commercial space. “Whenever there is a huge housing complex, the permission for running such space is taken in advance,” he said.
