Foreign Trip

The folksy trio of Kailasa are going places with their third album,Chaandna Mein. New York-based world music label,Cumbancha Records, will be releasing it in Europe, the US and Australia. Sony Music will launch it in India.

Singer Kailash Kher was approached by the record label after they heard the tracks of their first album Kailasa and eventually the association for international distribution came through in December last year. “This time,we are looking beyond the Indian diaspora,” says Kher.

Chaandna Mein, which has Kailasa’s signature theme of romanticism,is a compilation of eight tracks. “While most songs are folk,we have tried an experimental classical song which is a fast-tempo composition,” says Kher. The album will be released in the city on June 16 with a performance under the moonlight, much like the album title. (EFS)
