Parents have their fingers crossed as the most of city schools prepare to announce the first shortlist of candidates for nursery classes on Tuesday.
While schools have already held a draw of lots for the seats allotted to the economically weaker sections, most schools will now bring out the first list for selected general candidates.
Of course I am keeping my fingers crossed. I have applied in about 20 schools both top schools and second rung for the admission of my three-year-old son,but I am still unsure, said Nupur Awasthi,a parent.
Schools conducted the draw of lots for the EWS category in the presence of an official from the Directorate of Education. Springdales School-Pusa Road held the lottery at 2 pm on Monday and will be declaring its general category shortlist on Tuesday.
Other schools that will bring out their first list on Tuesday include The Mothers International School-Aurobindo Marg; Vasant Valley-Vasant Kunj; Modern School; Gyan Bharati School-Saket; Frank Anthony-Lajpat Nagar; Shri Ram School; Salwan School-Rajender Nagar; Apeejay School-Sheikh Sarai; DPS-Rohini; Bal Bharati Public School-Rohini; K R Mangalam School-Vikaspuri and Ryan International, among others.
A few schools like Laxman Public School-Hauz Khas and Bal Bharati Public School-Gangaram Hospital Marg, have already announced their first list.
Schools I have applied to will display their results either online or on their noticeboards. I will keep myself free tomorrow so that I can visit the school and also keep a tab online, said Geetika,a parent from Kalkaji.
The DoE had earlier asked all schools to bring out with the first list by or before February 1.
