Eleven infants were rescued from a neonatal care centre in Shahdara’s Vivek Vihar area, which caught fire on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, fire officials said. Atul Garg, Delhi Fire Services chief, said: “A fire call was received from a baby care centre at Block B of Vivek Vihar. A total of nine fire tenders were rushed to the spot.” On being informed, a rescue operation kicked off, said officials. Infants were being brought out by fire officials through the windows. Garg said 11 infants were rescued till 12.45 am on Sunday. The building where the fire took place is a three-storey structure.
