Allocation of land to the SC/ST department for a mini stadium in Sultanpur Majra for children from marginalised backgrounds, tenders for maintenance of toilets in slums, and provision of three meals to inhabitants of night shelters: These were some of the decisions that received the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) nod during a meeting on Friday.
Attended by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and DUSIB Vice Chairman minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, alongside officials from various departments, the meeting saw the clearance of several long-pending agendas.
Highlighting the dearth of accessible sanitation facilities within several ‘jhuggis’, officials affirmed that tenders have been issued, with agencies primed to assume responsibility soon.
Kejriwal reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, and directed the ACB to probe a retired DUSIB officer embroiled in a case of disproportionate assets to income.
