Red Fort Delhi Blast Live News Updates: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday detained a preacher from Mewat in Haryana in connection with the ‘white collar’ terror module operating from a university in Faridabad, officials said. Maulvi Ishtiyaq, who has been brought to Srinagar, was staying in a rented house within the Al Falah university complex in Faridabad. It was from his home that police had recovered more than 2,500 kg of ammonium nitrate, potassium chlorate and sulphur, the officials said. He is likely to be placed under arrest.

Delhi Police on high alert, checking continues across capital: The Delhi Police has been put on high alert and massive checking drives are being carried out across the national capital following the powerful explosion near the Red Fort metro station that left 13 people dead and many injured, officials said on Wednesday. Police personnel, along with paramilitary forces, are deployed in large numbers at all the entry and exit points of Delhi. Vehicles entering and leaving the city are being thoroughly checked as part of the intensified security measures, they said.

Today’s weather: According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Delhi-NCR continued to record ‘severe’ air quality levels. As of 7 am, the ten most polluted areas were Wazirpur (458), Bawana (451), Chandni Chowk (449), Jahangirpuri (446), Mundka (444), Rohini (442), Nehru Nagar (440), Ashok Vihar (439), Burari Crossing (439), and Anand Vihar (438).

On November 7, three days before an i20 car exploded near the Red Fort, Dr Umar Nabi Bhat, the man said to be driving the vehicle, called his sister-in-law in Pulwama to say that he would return home in three days.

On Monday night, as the family in Koil village of Pulwama waited for Umar’s return, police showed up and asked for his brother Zahoor Illahi. They took him away, only to return sometime later to take away his elder brother Ashiq Hussain. The Bhats said they were not given any reason. Umar’s father Ghulam Nabi Bhat was picked up for questioning while his mother was taken away, reportedly for DNA sampling.

Most MBBS students at Al Falah Medical College in Faridabad’s Dhauj did not have any real interaction with Dr Muzammil Ganai, a junior resident doctor working in the emergency wing of the institute, who was arrested on October 30 after J&K Police linked him to “interstate and transnational terror module”.

"We are worried about our job prospects after graduation. Who will want to hire after these arrests,” said a third-year MBBS student at the college.

At Al Falah University, five batches of MBBS courses with 150 to 200 students each are conducted every day. Established in 1997 as a dispensary, the college began Btech courses as a college in 2003. In 2014, it began UG and PG degree courses after being upgraded to university status. In 2019, it began UG medical classes and two years ago, it also began PG medical classes. It has an ‘A’ grade accreditation from NAAC.
