Delhi Red Fort Blast LIVE Updates: Indian university association suspends Al Falah University’s membership

The Gurgaon police Wednesday issued notices directing resident welfare associations (RWAs), private security companies in housing societies, and hotels to verify the details of tenants, visitors, domestic staff, including helps, drivers, car cleaners, and guards.

The notices have been issued under Section 168 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which deals with the powers and duties of the police to prevent the commission of cognisable offences.

One such notice, dated November 12, from Sector 53 Police Station was addressed to the RWA of Suncity in Sector 54, Gurugram. It states that RWAs, private security companies in societies, and hotels in the jurisdiction should operate responsibly, ensuring the safety and well-being of the general public.

“You are instructed to collect all details about any visitor or tenant who comes to your society or hotel. Check their Aadhaar card on the M-Aadhaar app, and ensure that all visitors and tenants undergo police verification. If you notice any suspicious object or person, immediately inform the police,” the notice reads. Click here

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday called for “severe punishment” to those involved in the terror module linked to the Red Fort blast, saying that “no religion can justify the killing of innocents with such brutality”.

Speaking to reporters in Jammu, he said, “Investigation will continue, but we must remember one thing that not every resident of Jammu and Kashmir is a terrorist, or associated with the terrorists.”

“These are only a few people who have always ruined peace and brotherhood here,” he said. “However, when we look at every resident of J&K and every Kashmiri Muslim with a single lens that each one of them is a terrorist, it is difficult to keep the people on the right track.”

Asked about white-collared professionals being involved in the module, Abdullah said, “What is new? Who says that educated people don’t get involved in such things? Have we not seen university professors before this?” Read

1. A bomb disposal team arrived to examine a Brezza car allegedly owned by Delhi blast accused Dr Umar Nabi Bhat, parked at Al-Falah University in Faridabad.

2. The accreditation body pulled up the university for falsely displaying NAAC grades on its website despite never being accredited.

3. In its notice, NAAC said the university’s claims of having “Grade A” accreditation were “absolutely wrong and misleading” for students and parents.

9. Officials told PTI that doctors linked to the so-called “white-collar terror module” pooled over Rs 26 lakh to procure bomb-making materials.

Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Syed Ahmed Bukhari, strongly condemned the Red Fort blast that killed 13 people, calling it an “abominable terror attack.” He said terrorism has no place in civil society and affirmed that the Muslim community stands united with all Indians against it. A fresh CCTV footage of the Red Fort blast has been released by the police. The video shows the cars going up in flames at the traffic signal where they were waiting for it to turn green. The footage, capturing the exact moment of the incident, shows a huge ball of flames engulf several cars at the Chandni Chowk traffic signal on Netaji Subhash Marg near the Lal Qila Metro Station Gate No.1.

Behind bars for nearly two decades after his arrest in the Nithari serial killings case, Surendra Koli spent his days in prison quietly — sweeping or mopping his cell repeatedly and keeping to himself, rarely interacting with other inmates.

As the Supreme Court on Tuesday set aside his conviction in a case of rape and murder of a teenage girl — one of the many cases that arose out of the Nithari murders — he is now free to walk out of prison. This was the last pending case against him; he had been acquitted in 12 other cases by the Allahabad HC on October 16, 2023.

“… He keeps to himself… doesn’t talk much to others… hardly anyone came to visit him,” said an official of Kasna jail, where Koli has been lodged for close to 14 years.

“He keeps cleaning the cell to pass time I think. He does this repeatedly. I often spot him with a broom in his hand, cleaning the floor, without paying attention to his surroundings,” said another jail official.... Continue reading
