Delhi News Live Updates: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off 1,100 GPS-enabled water tankers at DDA ground in Burari on Sunday for enhanced water supply in the city. “This is a step towards complete transparency. This is not the final solution, we will work on a new town plan to provide water from the tap to every resident,” Gupta said during the ceremony marking 60 days of her government in Burari. PWD minister Parvesh Verma conducted an inspection of the tankers ahead of the launch.

Mustafabad building collapse: A 20-year-old four-storey residential building collapsed in the Dayalpur area in the early hours of Saturday, leaving 11 people dead and 11 injured, officials said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to those who “lost their loved ones” and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs 50,000 each. Reacting to the incident, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta expressed her condolences and ordered a probe into the incident, assuring that strict action will be ensured against the culprits. The CCTV footage shows the collapse took place at around 2:39 am when occupants were sleeping inside the building. According to Rajender Atwal, Divisional Fire Officer of the Delhi Fire Service, the office was alerted about the incident at 2.50 am.

Today’s weather update: Delhi recorded a warm morning on Sunday, with the minimum temperature settling at 26 degrees Celsius, 4.4 notches above the season’s average. The weather department has forecast a partly cloudy sky for the day, with the maximum temperature likely to touch around 39 degrees Celsius. The air quality stood in ‘moderate’ category with an AQI of 147 at 9 am.

"We are going to all the STPs, we are seeing whether they are working on its capacity and maintaining the COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) levels. If it will happen, the Yamuna will become clean. We saw sewage, industrial waste are coming from Haryana. I will ask Delhi CM to have a meeting Haryana CM to ask for setup of STPs there. We will be acting against unauthorised industries," he said.

Eleven people, including three children, were killed after a four-storey building collapsed in north-east Delhi's Shakti Vihar in the early hours of Saturday. The incident also left 11 persons injured.

A CCTV camera installed at a nearby building captured the moment the building came down crashing, showing a thick cloud of dust filling the narrow alley.

Delhi News Live Updates: City records max temperature of 39.5 deg C, partly cloudy sky forecast for Sunday

Delhi on Saturday recorded a maximum temperature of 39.5 degrees Celsius, 2.5 degrees above the seasonal average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The minimum temperature in the capital settled 4.2 notches above normal at 25.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday, the IMD said, adding that humidity levels ranged between 60 per cent and 43 per cent during the day.

The Met office has forecast partly cloudy sky for Sunday, with the maximum and minimum temperatures expected to hover around 38 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Rain and gusty winds in parts of the city on Friday brought some relief from the rising mercury levels. The observatories at Narela, Pitampura and Mayur Vihar recorded 0.5 mm of rainfall each. (PTI)

Eleven people, including two women, died after a four-storey building collapsed in North East Delhi’s Dayalpur area early on Saturday, the police said. According to Rajender Atwal, Divisional Fire Officer of the Delhi Fire Service, the office was alerted about the incident at 2.50 am. “At least 10 fire tenders were deployed for the rescue operation. NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), DFS (Delhi Fire Services), and other civic agencies are carrying out the rescue operation,” he said.

The police said that several families were suspected to be staying inside the building on rent and the tragedy occurred when the occupants were sleeping. Read More

At least 11 people, including two women, were killed Saturday after a four-storey building collapsed in Delhi’s Dayalpur area.

In the final report after the Mustafabad building collapse rescue operation was concluded, 11 people were confirmed injured.

Ajith R, Deputy Commandant, NDRF, said, "NDRF reached the location at around 4:50 am after receiving a telephonic call from the Delhi Police control room, informing us that a building had collapsed and several people were trapped. After the NDRF team reached the site, we rescued a total of eight persons."

She was speaking at a World Liver Day event organised by Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), Delhi.

An Integrated Liver Rehabilitation Centre was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at ILBS during the event.

Highlighting the importance of strengthening healthcare infrastructure and upgrading medical technology, Gupta said, "It is our responsibility to ensure that no citizen in the country suffers due to lack of healthcare." "Delhi, being the capital, cannot restrict itself to treating only its residents. Patients from all over India come here for care." Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh and other senior officials also attended the World Liver Day event.

Delhi Mustafabad Building Collapse Live Updates: CM Rekha Gupta orders probe into Mustafabad building collapse

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday ordered a probe into the building collapse in northeast Delhi's Mustafabad in which at least four people were killed and several others remain trapped under debris.

Gupta said the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Delhi Fire Service (DFS), and other agencies are engaged in relief and rescue efforts.

"Arrangements have been made for proper treatment of all the injured," she said.

A four-storey building collapsed in Shakti Vihar, Mustafabad around 3 am. Police said around 22 people were trapped when the building came down but 14 people were later brought out and taken to GTB Hospital, where doctors declared four of them brought dead.

Delhi Police has arrested a woman, who worked as a bouncer for jailed gangster Hashim Baba's wife, and detained three others in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy in north-east Delhi's Seelampur area, an official said on Friday.

Kunal Singh was killed around 7.30 pm on Thursday, just a few metres from his house, after he stepped out to buy milk to prepare tea for his ailing father, police said.

He was rushed to the JPC Hospital located nearby where doctors declared him brought dead, they added.

4 people, including two women died in early hours of Saturday when a four-storey building collapsed in Delhi's Dayalpur. Rescue operations are underway to rescue those still trapped under debris.

The police said that several families were suspected to be staying inside the building on rent and the tragedy occurred when the occupants were sleeping.

“Immediately after receiving the call, the local police reached the site and began the rescue operation. It is suspected that some construction work was also ongoing in the four-story building located at the narrow lanes of Shakti Vihar,” the officer said.
