(Express Photo by Praveen Khanna)Delhi Air Quality Index (AQI) Level Today, 09 November 2025: Delhiites woke up to a hazy morning on Sunday, with the air quality at most recording stations turning ‘severe’, according to data showed by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). As of 7 am, the air quality in Delhi was in the ‘very poor’ category, with the reading at Air Quality Early Warning System (EWS) showing AQI at 391.
In Delhi, 22 out of the 39 monitoring stations recorded an AQI above the 400-mark, with Bawana (436) lodging the highest AQI, followed by Wazirpur (435), and Rohini (435), at 7 am.
The AQI levels remained in the ‘very poor’ category in some of the stations early Sunday, including Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (398), Dwarka Sector – 8 (383), Major Dhyan Chand Stadium (381), Lodhi Road (377), Sri Aurobindo Marg (371), Shadipur (360), IGI Airport (358).

According to the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) forecast, “The air quality is very likely to be in the ‘Very Poor’ category from November 9 to 11,” The Indian Express reported on Saturday.
IITM’s Decision Support System (DSS) forecast showed that the contribution of stubble burning to Delhi’s PM2.5 levels is expected to rise to 31.24% on Sunday, making it the most significant pollution source.
The AQI scale classifies air quality as: Good (0–50), Satisfactory (51–100), Moderately Polluted (101–200), Poor (201–300), Very Poor (301–400), and Severe (401–500). Higher AQI readings indicate increasingly unhealthy air.

AQI levels in NCR
The air quality remained in the ‘very poor’ category in Gurugram, with its Gwal Pahari monitoring station recorded an AQI of 308, as of 7 am on Sunday.
In Ghaziabad, the AQI was recorded to be 392, according to the Loni station, while it turned ‘severe’ at Vasundhara (421), according to the CPCB data.

Greater Noida saw AQIs in the range of 362-369, according to the two weather stations. In Noida, ‘very poor’ to ‘severe’ air quality was recorded, with the weather station at Sector 62 recording the highest AQI of 410.
