A man who allegedly murdered his wife and 16-year-old daughter, who had filed a case under the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act against him, in Delhi was arrested on Tuesday.
According to the Delhi Police, the man, 40, was arrested from Outer Delhi where he was hiding at a relative’s place.
The 38-year-old woman and her daughter were found dead at their residence on Saturday with multiple head injuries caused by blunt objects, said the police.
During their investigation, the police found that his daughter had filed a complaint against the accused and a case under the Pocso Act was registered against him. The police said the man went to their residence on Saturday to persuade them to withdraw the Posco Act case.
The accused was also in a relationship with another woman, who had filed a complaint against the wife. Both complaints were at the stage of trial, a senior police officer said.
Further investigation is underway.
