While AAP leader Sanjay Singh’s bail plea in the now-scrapped excise policy case in the Delhi High Court, the Enforcement Directorate has alleged Singh is a “key conspirator” in the alleged scam.

The ED stated in its reply to Singh’s bail plea in the High Court, “… it is evident that Sanjay Singh was involved in creating a special purpose vehicle (M/s Aralias Hospitality Pvt Ltd) to launder the proceeds of crime that would have been generated from the business arising out the policy changes as conspired by him and his co-conspirators. Furthermore Sh. Sanjay Singh was then involved in acquiring, possessing, concealing, dissipating and using proceeds of crime generated from the Delhi liquor scam pertaining to the policy period of 2021-2022”.

The reply added the investigation has revealed Singh is a “key conspirator in the Delhi Liquor scam” and is “closely associated with a number of accused/suspects including Dinesh Arora and Amit Arora”.

The agency has also alleged Singh has “gained illegal money/kickbacks which are proceeds of crime generated from the liquor policy (2021-22) scam” and played a role in conspiracy with others with respect to the Delhi excise policy of 2020-2021.

The ED has claimed Singh has a “close relationship” with Dinesh Arora since 2017 (which was revealed by Arora himself) and that the AAP leader received “proceeds of crime to the tune of Rs 2 through Sarvesh Mishra and Dinesh Arora”.

Singh, the agency said, has had certain confidential documents pertaining to the investigation of this case which are not in the public domain, adding that during the search conducted on his premises on October 4, last year certain confidential documents which are prints of images taken in the ED office and obtained illegally were found.

The matter is listed on Wednesday.
