Delhi court accepts cancellation report against ex-BJP MP Brij Bhushan in POCSO case
On June 15, 2023, the police filed a 550-page report requesting the cancellation of the POCSO case against Singh after the minor and her father withdrew their allegations against him in a fresh statement before a magistrate.

A Delhi court Monday accepted the cancellation report, filed close to two years ago, in the POCSO Act case against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
While the trial has begun in one FIR against Bhushan, wherein allegations of sexual harassment were levelled against him by six women wrestlers (he has been discharged of allegations by one wrestler), the police had in June 2023 filed a cancellation report in the POCSO case against him.
In April 2023, the father of a minor girl had lodged a complaint against Singh alleging sexual harassment, stalking and criminal intimidation. Over a month later, the girl retracted her allegations before a magistrate.
On June 15, 2023, the police filed a 550-page report requesting the cancellation of the POCSO case against Singh after the minor and her father withdrew their allegations against him in a fresh statement before a magistrate.
“In the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) case (involving the minor wrestler), we also tried to speak to other wrestlers, coaches, and referees to corroborate the minor’s allegations. Since a few of the allegations/incidents are from last year, we also analysed call detail records. However, no evidence came in support of her allegations. This has been mentioned in the cancellation report,” an officer had earlier told The Indian Express.
More than 20 witnesses had been examined and their testimonies recorded. The details of call records, photos, and videos from tournaments and events were also mentioned in the cancellation report.
