Delhi AQI Today Live Updates: Delhi woke up to thick smog on Tuesday morning, a day after the national capital celebrated Diwali. The air quality index of Delhi deteriorated and slipped in the ‘very poor’ category, recorded at 346 at 5.30 am today. Some areas in Delhi recorded an AQI of over 400, slipping into the ‘severe’ category. As per the CPCB, Bawana recorded AQI of 423 as of 8 am, Jahangirpuri had an AQI of 407 and Wazirpur an AQI 408.
Area-wise AQI in Delhi: As per the CPCB, Bawana recorded AQI of 423 as of 8 am, Jahangirpuri had an AQI of 407 and Wazirpur with an AQI 408 remains the worst hit areas with air quality falling under ‘Severe’ category. The AQI in Anand Vihar stood at 358, Ashok Vihar 389, Burari Crossing 399, Chandani Chowk 350, IGI Airport (Terminal 3) 302, ITO 342, Lodhi Road 322, Mundka 366, Najafgarh 336, Narela 358, Patparganj 342 and Punjabi Bagh 376.

Delhi worst-hit among all metro cities: Delhi had the highest AQI as compared to other seven metropolitan cities in the country. Areas in Delhi recorded AQIs as high as 450, while the cleanest air among all metro cities was recorded in Bengaluru, with an AQI of 95 at 8 am. The air quality in Mumbai was recorded in ‘poor’ category as AQI stood at 214 as of 8 am, in Patna at 224, in Jaipur at 231, Lucknow at 222.

Delhi News Live Updates: Three held for stabbing man to death
Three men were arrested for allegedly stabbing a man to death after beating him following a dispute over bursting firecrackers in outer north Delhi's Shahbad Dairy in the early hours of Tuesday, police said.
The accused have been identified as Dheeraj (24), Akash alias Baba (24) and Tarun (22). A fourth accused, Ajay alias Ali, is still absconding, the police said.
A call regarding the incident was received at around 12.20 am on October 21. A police team reached the spot and found the victim lying in the street with a stab wound on the right side of his chest. (PTI)

Delhi AQI Today Live Updates: Blaze in 2 adjacent buildings in Delhi's Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar
A massive fire broke out in two adjacent buildings in north-west Delhi's Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar in the early hours of Tuesday, prompting authorities to rush 40 fire tenders to the site, an official of the Delhi Fire Services said.
A call regarding fire breaking out in two godowns, spanning about 1000 square metres, was received at 1.25 am, he said, adding that the fire-fighting operation is going on.
"The godowns have a basement, ground floor and first floor. We rushed 40 fire tenders to the spot. The godowns had automobile repairing tools stored," the official said. (PTI)

Delhi AQI Today Live Updates: 7 rescued after fire breaks out in residential building in Delhi
Seven people were rescued after a fire broke out in a four-storey residential building in west Delhi's Mohan Garden area on Diwali night, an official said on Tuesday.
A call regarding the fire on the first and second floor of the building was received at 10 pm on Monday. The fire started in domestic articles due to firecrackers and seven people were rescued, the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said.
"Six fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control by 11.30 pm," the official said.

Delhi AQI Today Live Updates: Pollution levels in red zone
The Supreme Court had allowed the use of green firecrackers in Delhi-NCR between 8 pm and 10 pm on Diwali, which was celebrated on Monday. However, many flouted the court directions, with celebrations continuing late into the night.
Delhi's AQI stood at 349 at 12 am and 348 at 1 am, according to hourly data from the CPCB.
On Monday, 36 of the capital's 38 monitoring stations recorded pollution levels in the 'red zone', indicating 'very poor' to 'severe' air quality across the city.
Delhi's 24-hour average AQI on Monday, reported at 4 pm every day, was in the 'very poor' category at 345.
