Amid the controversy, Delhi has again recorded ‘very poor’ air quality. On Tuesday, the Delhi AQI was 305 at 5:30 am. The ambient temperature at the time was 20.4 degrees Celsius, as per the Early Warning System for Delhi.
The areas with the most polluted air came for Wazirpur and Siri Fort, which recorded an AQI of 349. This was followed by Ashok Vihar and Bawana, where the AQI was 340.
Both the Congress and the AAP have accused the Rekha Gupta government of trying to “fudge” the AQI figures by using anti-smog gun sprinklers only around the AQI monitoring stations. A video of the water tankers going around in circles quickly went viral on social media.
