Police said they apprehended the juveniles within 24 hours of the crime and they have been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to police, the incident came to light on November 4, when a relative of the victim lodged a complaint. The complaint stated that the minor was lured by three boys to a secluded rooftop, where he was allegedly sexually assaulted. The juveniles also allegedly threatened to harm the child if he revealed the incident to anyone.

A special team was constituted under the supervision of the Station House Officer (SHO) concerned and the overall direction of the ACP of the area concerned. The team included SI Savita, Constable Sandeep Bhati, Constable Amit Kumar, and Constable Shubham.
Acting swiftly, the police gathered inputs through their local intelligence network and conducted multiple searches in the area. Within hours, all three juveniles were apprehended.
Nidhin Valsan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central District), said prompt response by the police team ensured timely apprehension of the accused.
“The police acted on both the victim’s statement and secret intelligence inputs. Our priority was the safety of the child and immediate action against the culprits,” he said.
Further investigation is underway.
