On the first day of the Budget session, the Delhi Legislative Assembly Friday passed a resolution against the BJP MLAs for interrupting L-G Vinai Kumar Saxena’s speech by raising slogans and demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The resolution was sent to the ethics committee for further action.
The CM termed the disruption caused during the L-G’s address to be against the decorum of the House. “To obstruct the speech of the L-G and create a nuisance as he speaks is against the rules and is a contempt of the House. Therefore, the members of the House have passed a proposal and demanded that this issue be taken to an appropriate committee which will look into it and take action,” said Kejriwal.
The first day of the Budget session 2023-24, scheduled to start at 11 am with the L-G’s speech, started a little later as the BJP was protesting against Kejriwal , while the AAP raised slogans against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

After failing to bring in order in the House, the Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel ordered to marshal out three BJP MLAs Jitendra Mahajan, O P Sharma and Anil Bajpayee.
The resolution was forwarded by Health minister Saurabh Bharadwaj. “We have differences with the L-G, but these differences exist because we want the L-G to maintain dignity and constitutional supremacy of democracy. The government tells the L-G that he should act as per the Constitution and follow the law.”
The matter has been sent to the ethics committee which will review the proposal and take appropriate action to ensure that the decorum of the House is maintained.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said, “When a governor is giving a speech, a speaker does not have any right to marshal us out. The L-G was giving the speech and he has the right to preside and take action to marshal us out or not. As usual, the AAP’s speaker did not take action against their leaders who first started a protest by raising slogans against our PM.
