A computer CPU has gone missing from the special executive magistrate court located on Parliament Street in New Delhi area.
The police have registered a case of theft under Section 380 of the IPC after the constable in-charge of the courts security filed a complaint at the Parliament Street police station.
On Sunday,the court staff noticed that a CPU which contained important information about the cases being tried in court was missing. After the entire office complex was checked properly,they informed the constable in-charge, the police said.
The police officers added they are investigating the matter and suspect the involvement of an insider in the incident.
A senior police officer said,No one from outside could have taken it and we suspect that an insider is involved.
The police said they are now trying to ascertain what information was contained in the CPU and whether any important information could go in the wrong hands. Investigations are being done properly as it is a courts official CPU and may have vital information, the officer added.
