A 45-year-old Delhi Police head constable was killed when a car hit his motorcycle near a petrol pump in Madhu Vihar,East Delhi,early on Tuesday morning,police said.

New Delhi: A 45-year-old Delhi Police head constable was killed when a car hit his motorcycle near a petrol pump in Madhu Vihar,East Delhi,early on Tuesday morning,police said. Head Constable Abhay Narayan Rai was posted at Rohini (South) police station. He was on his way home,at Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh,around 1 am,when the car hit his bike,police said. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against unknown persons.

CEO of FM channel held for molestation

New Delhi: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of an FM radio channel was on Monday arrested for allegedly molesting a female employee. The woman had reportedly first approached the police three months ago. The accused was released on bail on Tuesday. According to a complaint,the incident took place during a trip to Rajasthan in December last year. A case,under IPC Section 354,has been registered at the CR Park police station.

Girl injured in firing incident

New Delhi: A nine-year-old student was injured in a firing incident around 11 am in Palam Village on Tuesday. Ria has been admitted in a hospital. She was at a wedding with her family when two persons entered into an altercation. One of them,an ex-Serviceman identified as Jagban,fired one round in the air with his licensed gun,police said. The girl was injured by the sparks of the shot. “The main accused has been arrested,” a police officer said.

Man held for raping step-daughter

New Delhi: A 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his 15-year-old step-daughter over the last two years at their house in New Ashok Nagar,East Delhi. The accused,a driver,was arrested after the victim informed her mother on February 27.

Website on tobacco harm launched

New Delhi: The Delhi government on Tuesday launched a website to educate people about the adverse effects of tobacco consumption. The website,www.smokefreedelhi.org, is both in English and Hindi. At the launch of the website,Health minister Dr A K Walia said Delhi is the pioneer state to implement tobacco control legislations.
