Delhi to sign MoU,will be first to get unique IDs
With the Delhi government approving a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to be signed with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI),Delhiites are expected to be the first to get the identity proof across the country. The state Cabinet on Monday decided to constitute two committees to oversee implementation of the project in Delhi. “We have decided to sign an MoU with UIDAI to provide all possible cooperation to them and make the project a great success in Delhi,” Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said.

Safdarjung Hospital: Junior doctors on strike
Medical services at Safdarjung Hospital are likely to be affected from Tuesday morning with over 500 junior doctors planning to go on a hunger strike protesting against “lack of basic services”. The students had staged a protest this April by blocking the Ring Road opposite the hospital. They had put off the protest for a month after being promised better facilities.

Abducted 10-yr-old rescued from Bihar
The Delhi Police on Monday rescued from Bihar a 10-year-old boy kidnapped last week by a woman living in his New Friends Colony house. Police said Rohit was abducted by Premvati,who had been the boy’s father’s tenant for the last 23 years,on Saturday. “The woman had fled with Rohit and her seven-year-old son after which the boy’s father filed a complaint of kidnapping,” a senior officer said. Additional Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Virender Singh Chahal said the woman would be interrogated when the team returns to Delhi. Premvati had not informed her husband,a three-wheeler driver,or her three other children before leaving,they said.

Will complete projects by June-end: MCD
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Monday asserted that it will complete all Commonwealth Games projects by June 30. But a progress report submitted at a meeting of the Standing Committee revealed that the progress varies from 65 to 100 per cent on various components of streetscaping work.
