State Championship from 18th
The Delhi Badminton Association is organising the Delhi State Badminton Championship at Indira Gandhi Stadium from 18 – 23 August,2012. The Championship will be held in the age groups of U-13, U-15,U-17,U-19 & Seniors (Men & Women). The entries will close at the venue on 14th August ,2012 at 6.00 PM. It will be one of the selection tournaments to select the Delhi teams for the forthcoming North Zone Inter State Badminton Championship,Senior Nationals,Sub Junior & Junior National Championships.
First girls soccer tourney
Sixteen school teams of Delhi / NCR region will vie for top honours in the 1st Delhi Soccer Association ( DSA) Inter – School Girls Football Tournament scheduled to take place from August 16 to September 3 at DDA Netaji Subhash Sports Complex,Jasola. The tournament is being played on league – cum – knockout basis. The participating teams have been divided in six groups of three teams each in the prelliminary qualifying round league.
The top teams of each group will qualify for the qrs-final league stage scheduled to begin from August 24. The Champion team of All India CBSE championship – Ahlcon Public School (Mayur Vihar ) and Vasant Valley,Vasant Vihar have been seeded directly in the quarterfinals.
Nagpal snares five
Deepanshu Kochar scored a fifty (56),Sanyam Arora (34 and 3/26) produced an all round display while Hitesh Arora (4/12) took a four wicket haul to help Global DL DAV Academy beat Rajvanshi Academy by 56 runs in the Swastik Sports Under-17 Cricket tournament at Ghevra ground.

RR Gymkhana triumph
Lakshit Kumar’s knock of 68 and Sarthak Rastogi’s three wicket haul (3/33) helped Rohtak Road Gymkhana beat Indian Convent Academy by 20 runs in the Titiksha Under-15 Cricket tournament at Rohini ground.

Jaya Jain wins martial art gold
Jaya Jain won a gold medal for India at the 12th International Tang So Do World Championship in Chicago. Jain,who has learned the Korean martial art under Master Devender Dutt Gaur,won the yellow metal in the Spairing category among 12 participating countries.
