NEW DELHI: Heavy rains forced the traffic police to call off its plan to run Games lanes trials during the evening rush hour on Monday. The lane trials on Tuesday would go on as per schedule during the morning rush on four routes,including Ring Road from Chandgi Ram Akhada to Mall Road,from NH-24 to Ghazipur crossing,from Kalkaji Mandir to Ma Anandmayi Marg to Lal Kuan to MB Road to Suraj Kund Road,and from SPM Panchsheel Marg to RML Hospital via Mother Teresa Crescent. Meanwhile,the Delhi Traffic Police is also in the last stage of finalising the traffic plan for athletes coming for the Games on the basis of a tentative schedule submitted to them by the Organising Committee.

Metro to launch new website today

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro is all set to launch its new interactive website. The website has been revamped keeping in mind that the Metro will serve as an important public transport system during the Commonwealth Games. The new website will be launched by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation managing director E Sreedharan on Tuesday. DMRC officials said the website will have a special section giving details about the Games and related information. The new website will have an interactive route map,automatic fare calculator and information on tourist attractions along the Metro corridors.
