Four unidentified men allegedly looted Rs 1.25 lakh from a toll collection van in Bawana,Outer Delhi,around 8.30 am on Tuesday.

New Delhi: Four unidentified men allegedly looted Rs 1.25 lakh from a toll collection van in Bawana,Outer Delhi,around 8.30 am on Tuesday. The accused held the security guard and two employees at gunpoint before decamping with the money,police said. An officer said the van was barely 100 metres away from the Bawana toll booth. “After committing crime the accused ran away. A case has been registered,” added the officer.

CWG: Bhanot,Verma in judicial custody

New Delhi: A Delhi court sent former senior officials of CWG Organising Committee,Lalit Bhanot and V K Verma,in judicial custody for 14 days in connection with alleged irregularities in the Rs 107-crore deal with a Swiss firm for supply of timing,scoring and result (TSR) systems. They will now be produced in court on March 15.

Property tax payment date extended

New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi Standing Committee Chairman,Yogender Chandolia,announced on Tuesday that following public demand,the civic agency had extended the last date of submission of property tax under the the scheme for settlement of ex-parte assessments under old system of assessment (Rateable Value) as well as the Unit Area Method to March 31.

Electrician touches live wire,dies

New Delhi: A 32-year-old electrician died while he was fitting wires at a house in Karawal Nagar, Northeast Delhi,on Monday. “While connecting the wires,he came in contact with a naked wire,” the police said.
