Days after the Delhi Police unearthed a “fake” EWS (economically weaker sections) admission racket, the office of the South District Magistrate (SDM) has busted a racket of illegally manufacturing certificates.
Two persons were arrested subsequent to a raid at South Delhi’s Saidulajab area of Saket. An inquiry is also being conducted to assess the possible role of an official.
Reportedly, documents including income certificates, caste certificates and voter cards belonging to various districts have been recovered. Following the raid, District Magistrate South has ordered streamlining the functioning of certificates branch, patwarkhanas, land record segments.

The accused have been identified as Govind Ram and Amit. Officials said teams of two SDMs were part of the raid including SDM saket Vikas Ahlawat and SDM Hauz Khas Shivam Teotia.
Officials said the raid was carried out at a house on IGNOU Road. In addition to the documents, an electricity bill from 1988 was also found.
It was forged with names of different persons and was allegedly shown as a proof of residence for the year 1993 to make an OBC certificate. Certain stamps and seals of various designations were also seized. The stamps, officials said were used to attest the documents with forged signatures.
