Top BJP leaders skip screening of My Name Is Khan
Most senior leaders of the BJP stayed away from the screening of My Name Is Khan at the Films Division auditorium. L K Advani was expected to attend,but did not come,neither did party president Nitin Gadkari and leader Sushma Swaraj. BJP leader Chetan Chauhan,who confessed he was a big fan of SRK,said,Politics and films should be kept separate. Its an unnecessary controversy. Designer Shaina NC,a BJP member,who organised the screening,said,There can be two views in democracy. Shiv Sena and Shah Rukh Khan can take different stands and both can be right. She added,Shah Rukh and Karan are good friends,and I stand in solidarity with them. The film sends out the message that there are two kinds of people in the world good and bad. Also present at the screening were Delhi Leader of Opposition V K Malhotra and former BJP MP Chandan Mitra.
Metro services disrupted by jammed door
Services on Line 2 (Central Secretariat to Jahangirpuri) of the Delhi Metro were affected for over 10 minutes on Friday after a trains door failed to open at the Central Secretariat stations platform 2. The incident occurred at 5.38 pm when the doors of a train from Jahangirpuri failed to open. Around 10 passengers had to use the door of the driving cab to get off, a DMRC spokesperson said. Normal services on the line resumed at 5.46 pm. Two round trips were cancelled.
Games torch
Chandigarh: Rajya Sabha MP and President,Media Committee of Commonwealth Games,Tarlochan Singh said on Friday the torch of the Commonwealth Games would enter India through the Attari border on June 25 from Pakistan. He said a mega function to welcome the torch would be arranged. The torch would be taken through parts of Punjab and various other states before it reaches Delhi. Singh said he was satisfied with the ongoing work on the Commonwealth Games arrangements in Delhi.
