With the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) holding a mega rally in Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan Sunday against the Centre’s ordinance on services, the BJP has started a poster campaign in the national capital to counter the AAP.

The party’s Delhi unit put up several posters in the city asking CM Kejriwal to ‘open’ his house, sarcastically termed ‘Shishmahal’ by BJP leaders, to show people how much ‘luxury’ he lives in.

Another poster, placed next to an AAP poster, reads: “Rs 45 crore for Kejriwal’s house renovation. Please answer. This money is from my taxes.”

The Delhi unit has also put up a model of Kejriwal’s official residence at Connaught Place.

Further, the BJP shared online a poster bearing Kejriwal’s photo that has uncanny resemblance to a recently released movie. “Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai Dilli ko tabah Karne ke liye,” the poster reads.

Addressing a press conference after AAP’s rally, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said: “We requested the CM to show everyone his Rajmahal. He has not agreed to it, so we have made a model. We will take this model to all 70 constituencies of Delhi and show people all the facilities he has made for himself.”

BJP North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari, meanwhile, called for the “purification” of the Ramlila Maidan.

“We should purify the Ramlila Maidan after Kejriwal’s rally. I was recalling the time when Anna Hazare was sharing the stage with Kejriwal. The motto at the time was anti-corruption and today he is trying to hide his own corruption using the same stage. Not once did he speak about the Lokpal Bill. You did not call Anna Hazare. Even I was part of that movement. You should have spoken about the Lokpal. If there was a Lokpal today, we would not have to seek justice elsewhere,” he said.
